Among flowers, roses offer maximum beauty benefits. Mix rose with water and you get the most hydrating, refreshing and healing potion that can offer relief from a lot of skin conditions. Suitable for all skin types, rose water is also an antiseptic that imparts a healthy glow to your skin.
But, most of you beauty enthusiasts may already know of these benefits. However, what if we told you that we have five new ways of how you can use rose water in your beauty routine? Yep… you read that right. Read on to find out what they are.
01. Makeup-setting mist
We bet you didn’t know that rose water can double up as a makeup setting mist. It gets rid of the powdery finish and locks your makeup in place. Pour some rose water in a small spray bottle that has a fine misting nozzle. Simply spritz it on your face after you’re done with your makeup to set it in place.
02. Acne relief
Due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, rose water can reduce swelling, redness and other irritations associated with acne. Mix one tablespoon of rosewater with equal parts of honey and apply to affected areas after washing your face. Leave on for 10 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.
03. Hair rinse
Giving your hair a rose water rinse will make your hair extra soft, shiny, and smooth, leaving it with a subtle scent. Add three tablespoons of rose water to two cups of cool water and pour over your hair after shampooing and conditioning. You can also spray rose water on your hair after towel drying it.
04. Mouthwash alternative
The antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of rose water make it an excellent ingredient to use as a mouthwash alternative. Some studies have also proved that rose water can reduce pain among those suffering from mouth ulcers and sores.
05. Makeup remover
If you struggle with removing makeup and don’t want to use chemical-laden, harsh makeup removers, you can opt for rose water. Simply add a few drops of coconut oil to rose water and mix well. Pour some on a cotton pad and remove your makeup with it. This will also help get rid of stubborn eye makeup.
