Like most women, we’re sure you love looking well-turned out wherever you go. However if there’s one place that you should never show up at with a full face of make-up, it’s the gym! No matter what form of physical activity you are engaging in, be it spinning or yoga, your exercise space should be off-limits for your makeup routine and here’s why…

Thanks to the streams of sweat pouring down your forehead, there’s no chance of any makeup staying firmly on your face.

Secondly, since your pores open up while working out, even if you are wearing makeup, it will enter these pores. Obviously, this is a sure-shot recipe for disaster (read: dullness and pimples.) Even brushing it off with your hand drives the makeup further into your pores.

The most obvious, and ideal solution is to not wear make-up whatsoever. However, if you’re afraid of bumping into an acquaintance on the way to the gym with a bare face, opt for a very lightweight BB cream. Once you reach, use a cleanser to thoroughly remove the makeup and wash your face before you can begin exercising. This will ensure clean, bare skin, just the kind you need before you begin sweating it out.
