Why green tea is a powerhouse of youthful, healthy skin?

Green tea has many anti-ageing properties and antioxidants such as catechins and polyphenols which cut down on free radical count. It not only fights wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots and saggy skin, keeping it firm and healthy, but also slows down premature ageing as it is rich in oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Regular intake of it as a beverage can give you radiant glow and spotless skin. It is known to be a natural moisturiser which helps keep skin soft and supple.
3 ways to use green tea in your skincare routine

Apart from brewing some green tea leaves in water and drinking it daily, there are other ways to benefit from the goodness of green tea. Here are 3 ways you can use green tea as an ingredient in your skincare.
Apply green tea on face

After you’re done with your evening green tea, put some cotton into the leftover tea and dab it onto your face. It will help destroy acne fighting bacteria, giving you spotless skin.
Put used tea bags to use

Green tea contains astringent tannin which helps shrink and tighten the saggy skin around eyes. Keeping tea bags on eyes would help reducing appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles around eyes. Refrigerate used tea bags and leave it on eyes for 20 minutes every day.
Try a green tea mask

Applying homemade face masks made using green tea can give you flawless and youthful skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of ground green tea leaves into half a cup of plain yogurt and whisk. Apply the mask and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
