Licking your lips can make them feel temporarily hydrated, but in reality, doing so will only turn your lips drier in the long run. Why? Your saliva contains digestive enzymes that wear down the skin on the lips, leaving them more prone to dry air over time. Break this bad habit, and follow the tips mentioned above to keep your lips hydrated and protected from tanning.
