It’s quite unfair of the face to claim all the attention when a discussion about skincare is involved. Your body is equally important, especially when it comes to building a skincare routine for the harsh winter months. The sudden drop in temperature, cold air and dryness can affect even the ignored areas of your body causing them to turn dry and itchy. But you don’t want that, do you? Here are four areas that need some extra TLC this winter…
01. The neck

Your neck happens to be as exposed at the rest of your face during winter. Given that you are constantly wearing scarves or turtlenecks (yes, they are still around) to cover up your necks, the constant friction between dry skin and woollen clothes can lead to winter rashes and irritation. Keep the skin on your neck properly nourished to avoid this and the best way to do it is take your winter moisturiser down to your neck while applying it on your face.

02. The hands

Your hands are already one of the driest areas of your body during winter, pile on the fact that you are constantly washing it throughout the day due to the pandemic and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. Keep a rich and creamy hand cream by your bedside or work desk to quickly hydrate dry hands and keep them looking pretty!

03. The legs

Lower levels of humidity in the winter air is a major cause for dry skin. This is worse for your legs since they are subjected to hot showers, friction from the clothes and shaving. Do not forget to moisturise your legs during winter, especially your lower legs which can develop visible and itchy dry patches that can be super annoying to deal with.

04. The lips

Chapped lips are as synonymous with winter as hot chocolates are! So while you might already be slapping on that cherry chapstick, you might forget about the sun protection element. Pick a hydrating lip balm with a minimum SPF of 15 to protect your pout from turning dry and wrinkly!
