Travel breakout is a real thing, and a very annoying one at that. Imagine the one time you want to take a million pictures; you get a face full of acne. Argh! It’s the worst, isn’t it? Whether you are flying to your destination or travelling by train or bus, you can get flare-ups, thanks to the not-so hygienic setting, dehydration and the stress in your body.

Well, there are ways to deal with travel acne and make sure it doesn’t ruin your vacay. And, like always, we have rounded them up for you. Here goes.

Prep your skin before jet-setting

A couple of days before your trip take real good care of your skin. Hydrate, follow your skincare routine and eat healthy because you won’t be able to do all that on the move. Pack your skincare products like an oil-zapping and acne-preventing cleanser, moisturiser, mask and SPF.

Cleanse on the go

Facial wipes are a no-brainer; you need them more than anything at this point of time to keep your face clean. But also, keep your face wash handy and head for a quick cleanse whenever you feel sweaty or oily, especially on a long journey. Acne doesn’t stand a chance against squeaky clean skin.

Wear light makeup

You don’t want to clog your pores and complicate things even further, do you? Didn’t think so! Opt for lightweight products and remember less is more when it comes to travel makeup. You can glam up all you want once you reach your destination pimple-free.

Carry a clay mask

If you are travelling to a hot or cold place, your skin is likely to produce more oil, and thus more pimples. Carry with you a travel-size clay or charcoal mask to keep your skin oil-free and kick acne to the curb.

Relax and rest

Relax and rest

Whether it’s a work trip or a holiday, make sure you get a good night’s sleep and relax. Stress makes acne worse and is notorious for triggering it. So as long as you are relaxed and well-rested, you can be sure that acne won’t be haunting you.
