No girl could ever refuse smooth, flawless and glowing skin. While there are some amazing makeup products (read: highlighter) that give you that beautiful lit-from-within glow, nothing beats the look that comes from having skin that’s naturally healthy and radiant.
But before we move ahead, it is important to know that there are no shortcuts to healthy skin, and that it is a combination of the right kind of products and oodles of commitment. We can’t do much about the latter, but we can definitely help you develop a skincare routine that will fight dull skin and restore your skin’s natural glow. So here goes...
- Step 01: Cleansing is an absolute must
- Step 02: Don’t skip the toner
- Step 03: Use a skin-brightening serum
- Step 04: An SPF-infused day cream is a must
- Step 05: Use a scrub at least 3-4 times a week
- Step 06: Use a skin repairing face mask at least once a week
Step 01: Cleansing is an absolute must

In order to keep your skin bright and glowing, you need to thoroughly cleanse twice a day. To ensure that you get rid of every last bit of makeup, dirt and oil, using a face wash is not enough; you need to double cleanse. This method uses an oil-based cleanser as the first step to loosen all the dirt, makeup and impurities without drying out your skin. Next, use a foam cleanser to get rid of any residual gunk. This will leave your skin squeaky clean.
Step 02: Don’t skip the toner

A toner is an important step in your skincare routine, and one that you should not skip if you want your skin to look bright and glowing. A good quality toner helps to balance your skin’s pH levels, tighten pores and promote better absorption of skincare products. This seriously helps restore the glow over time.
Step 03: Use a skin-brightening serum

A skin-brightening serum, preferably one that contains Vitamin C, is absolutely life-changing. These serums are enriched with a number of active ingredients that penetrate deep into your skin and aid in gentle exfoliation. This action eliminates the layer of dead skin cells and leaves your skin super smooth and glowing.
Step 04: An SPF-infused day cream is a must

Day creams are the unsung heroes of skincare. From moisturising your skin to reducing dullness, and evening out the skin tone to preventing sun damage, the right kind of day cream does it all. If you are wondering which day cream to use, then we highly suggest you try the Lakme Absolute Ideal Tone Refinishing Day Creme SPF 50 PA +++. This cream is enriched with gentle pineapple fruit extracts that work over time to transform dull and uneven skin. Apart from protecting the skin from both UVA/UVB rays, this day cream also helps to prevent damage from environmental aggressors for flawless and glowing skin.
Step 05: Use a scrub at least 3-4 times a week

Irrespective of your skin type, including a scrub in your skincare routine will reveal glowing skin in just a few uses. Dead skin cells form a layer on your skin and make your face look extremely dull and lacklustre. A scrub helps slough away these dead skin cells and reveal fresh and glowing skin. We recommend using the St Ives Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub. Naturally sourced pink lemon and mandarin in this scrub not only exfoliate your skin but also leave it bright and glowing.
Step 06: Use a skin repairing face mask at least once a week

Did you know that as you age, your skin starts to get really dry, there is a reduction in the collagen production as well as cell turnover? All of these factors affect the skin and make it look super dull and lacklustre. Therefore it is important to use anti-ageing skincare products to delay these signs of ageing. And what better way to do this than an amazing anti-ageing face mask? You can start with using the Dermalogica MultiVit Power Recovery Masque at least once a week. This mask contains vitamins A, C and E along with linoleic acid, to enhance skin barrier and ensure that your skin looks supple, youthful and glowing.
