Unless you were living under a rock, by now you know pretty much everything about K beauty and its elaborate beauty routines. A new trend is taking over the beauty world and is here to stay; it is Japanese beauty or J beauty as everyone’s calling it.
J beauty emphasises on the "less is more” outlook and focusses on achieving healthy and dewy skin. We’ve got all the details you were looking for regarding this beauty routine. Read on to find out…
Skincare

Unlike K-beauty, J-beauty does not believe in an elaborate ten steps routine. Instead it is based on the philosophy of using fewer, but powerful formulas. They promote the idea of using a sun protectant, gentle cleansing and deep hydration in the morning and thorough cleansing and moisturising in the evening. When it comes to sheet masks, they do not recommend using one every day, but one super-effective mask every week.
Foundation

Matte makeup and sparkly highlighters that accentuate facial features are a part of J-beauty. Japanese foundations are available in all our favourite textures like liquid, powder, cream, cushion as well as stick. Japanese girls also use tinted moisturisers to get an even looking skin tone and flawless skin.
Blush

What sets J-beauty apart from the rest of the world is their way of applying blush. Instead of lightly patting some blush over the cheekbones, they apply it right below the under-eye area. They believe it appears cute and innocent as opposed to vampy.
Lipstick

Bold colours do not exist in Japan’s beauty trend. They are all about translucent reds, taupe, rosy pinks in gradients. The focus is on the centre of the lips and a diffused lip line is maintained as you move outwards.
Eyeliner

Japanese makeup does not emphasise a lot on eyeliners, they keep it minimal and light. A simple thin stroke of shimmery eyeliner is applied to the eyelid to keep it simple and soft.
