Who says you have to stick to greys and blacks for a smokey eye? If you’re on the experimental side when it comes to makeup, a colourful smokey eye should be on your beauty bucket list. So get your eyeshadow palettes out as we teach you how to create a bright blue smokey eye makeup look for yourself…

Prep your eyes

Prep your eyes

Before you start with your smokey eye, make sure you prep your lids for the colour. Do so by applying a primer to your lids and then using a bit of concealer on the eyelids so that the colour really pops. We suggest using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick with SPF 20. This one comes in fair and medium shades that give you coverage along with protection from the sun.

Start with aqua blue

Start with aqua blue

To begin the smokey eye application, first, apply a neon blue eyeshadow all over your lids using a wet eyeshadow brush. Apply this pigment from your lash line all the way till your crease and make sure it blends with your skin. Use the aqua blue shade from the Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette, Royal Persia for this purpose.

Go for a bright blue

Go for a bright blue

Use an eyeshadow brush and apply the deeper, bright blue on to the outer corners of your eyes. Use a blending brush to blend inwards over the paler blue so you can see a mix of two different bright blues on your eyes. Use the teal shade from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette, Royal Persia for this purpose.

Line your lower lash line

Next, use a bright blue sparkly kajal to create a cat eye on your upper lash line. Once that’s done, use the same kajal on your lower lash line. We suggest using the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate Kajal, Prussian Blue for this purpose. Use the other side of the kajal to smudge the application.

Finish off with mascara

To compete the colourful smokey eyes, use a curling mascara to amp up your lashes. We suggest using the Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara, Black for this purpose.
