As always, New York Fashion Week/Fall 2018 was the first of the 4 international fashion weeks to kick off this year. We were glued to our screens with our beauty radars on high alert to track all the new makeup looks we could spot on the runway. Here are some of our favourite standout makeup trends that we think will be making it big this season…
Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott

While neon bobs were an eye-catching trend at Jeremy Scott’s show, we couldn’t stop drooling over the sheer beauty of three-dimensional negative space cat eyes. The complete look consisted of the 3D cat eye placed right under the brow-bone and an eyeshadow of the same colour being used to make the inner corners of the eye pop. Doubt this will be a wearable makeup trend—but that coloured shadow gets a definite yaaas from us!

Adam Selman

Adam Selman

The beauty looks at Adam Selman’s show played with a broad, colourful palette consisting of bright pink, lemon yellow, sky blue for eyeshadows and fierce eyeliner. The lips were kept simple. We also loved the heavily contoured cheekbones.

Ulla Johnson

Ulla Johnson

Metallic gold eyelids were given an upgrade at Ulla Johnson’s show at New York Fashion Week Fall 2018 with chunky pigment in the form of a gold leaf being smeared unevenly over the lids. The lips were kept bare. This makeup look was described as an “organic play on disco” by the makeup artist Romy Soleimani.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford

The inspiration behind this beauty look was street style being referenced in makeup—easy yet striking. There were statement-y eyes with classic black eyeshadow used to smoke them out topped with oodles of mascara and a pale lip.

Lanyu

Lanyu

Shimmery, glitter eyeshadow was amplified further with little sequins used to decorate the eye makeup giving us major celestial vibes at the Lanyu show. Looks like glitter is going nowhere for now.

Tory Burch

Tory Burch

Beauty at Tory Burch was something that we absolutely swear by—a luminous, nude visage with barely-there blush, lightly filled brows and a hint of gloss on the lips. We loved the ‘less is more’ approach to the makeup.

The beauty looks at New York Fashion Week are a proof that fall 2018 is going to be all about dramatic eyes, luminous skin and nude lips and we’re totally loving this combination. What about you?
