The party season a.k.a the ‘go all out with your makeup’ season is here! So you beauty hoarders better have all things glitter stacked up in you makeup vanity. Because honestly, without glitter, your party makeup look is going to be drab af. From outfits to accessories to makeup, adding an element of glitter is a party rule which you shouldn’t break. Of all the crazy glitter makeup trends we keep coming across, we found a trend that’s different, edgy and perfect for the parties that are lined up for you. It’s the ‘Under Eye Glitter’ trend.

The Under Eye Glitter Trend

Thanks to Elle Fanning who sported this look at the Saint Laurent fashion show in LA and the Gucci 2017 Cruise show, the trend quickly picked up on Instagram. People were coming up their own versions of this trend by using pigments and eye shadow to create this look.

What you will need

What you will need

For a party, warm gold under eye glitter would look the best! Begin the look by doing your eye makeup as you normally would. Grab all your usual essentials–concealer, eye shadow brush, an eye shadow palette which has warm neutrals and pigmented golds like the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Gold. Don’t forget a gold pigment which is easily available in stores.

The steps

The steps

  1. Use a generous amount of concealer under your eyes. Opt for a cream concealer for a consistency that’ll help the glitter stick. Warm the product up on your palm before using.
  2. Dampen your eye shadow brush and dust some gold eye shadow underneath your eye (leave space between the lower lash line and the eye shadow as you don’t want to get it inside your eye). Do this as soon as you apply your concealer when it’s fresh and warm.
  3. Then, use a dry eye shadow brush to place the pigment underneath your eye. Start with a small amount. You can also use your finger to place the pigment.
  4. Once done, finish the rest of your eye according to what works well with the pigment. Avoid eye shadows that fall out easily as they will ruin the under eye glitter.

And you’re done!

Walk into a party with this gold under eye glitter and we’re sure you will be flooded with compliments. Having said that, don’t just stop at gold.

Play around with colours and pigments to create different looks for different occasions.

Go subtle with rose golds and silvers or totally OTT with bright purples and maroons too! And if you can’t figure out what to try, you can always turn to your trusted beauty inspo–Instagram. This trend has no rules, so get creative!

So, are you going to give under eye sparkles a try this party season? We sure are!
