01. Foundation became the least used product
Before the pandemic, most of us would spend quite a bit of time each morning blending our foundation until it looked like second-skin. But thanks to the pandemic, it has become that one product we rarely reach out for. Since our professional and social lives became virtual, we couldn’t really be bothered with spending those extra 10 minutes blending our foundations.
02. Focus shifted toward skin and hair care
Since we had a lot more time at hand being, many people could actually devote more time for skincare. From whipping up different DIY face masks to researching about various ingredients, we took on a more holistic and long-term approach towards beauty.
03. Lipsticks took a backseat
With face masks being an absolute must when stepping out, lipsticks undoubtedly became a bit redundant. The focus, therefore, shifted from flaunting a bold pout to trying out different eye makeup looks. This also led to a surge in newer eye makeup trends on social media and runways.
04. Makeup routines became more simple
Since most of our meetings and social gatherings happened virtually, we hardly ever wore a full face of makeup. This gave rise to the ‘5-minute makeup trend’, something we personally love! This makeup trend is all about putting on just enough makeup (concealer, blush, brows and lipstick) to look presentable for a meeting.
