Oscars 2021: A round-up of the best makeup looks spotted on the red carpet

Oscars are the most awaited award show of the year. Apart from honouring the best in the industry, it is also a great place for beauty buffs like us to take notes of what’s trending in the beauty scene globally. Even though this star-studded night took place at two separate venues in Los Angeles, the 93rd Oscars Award show not only had an in-person red carpet but was also the first mask-less event (with all safety protocols in place, of course) in over a year.

Needless to say, our favourite celebrities made the most of this event by walking the red carpet in some incredible makeup looks that we simply can’t get enough of. Here’s a round-up of our favourite makeup looks spotted on the Oscars 2021 red carpet. Check ‘em out…

Never the one to disappoint, Amanda Seyfried was a vision of beauty and sophistication in that beautiful red gown. Even though she kept her base and eye makeup simple, the bold cherry-red lip colour brightened up her face and stole the show.

02. Regina King

Actress and director Regina King looked simply stunning in a beautiful powder blue outfit. She paired this gown with matte grey eyeshadow, kohl-rimmed eyes and perfectly contoured cheekbones. Super chic, don’t you think?

03. Cara Delevingne

Ditching the usual long, flowy gown, as is the case with most actresses, Cara Delevingne walked the red carpet wearing a tuxedo-style top and pants. That winged eyeliner, filled-in brows and the bold burgundy lip colour may not be the most obvious choice for the red carpet, but Cara sure carries it with aplomb!

04. Margot Robbie

Everything about Margot Robbie’s look – from that beautiful shimmery gown to her soft, glowing makeup – was a sight to behold. An epitome of grace and simplicity, Margot’s makeup featured a glowing base, softly defined eyes, and a nude brown glossy lip that instantly won our hearts.

05. Maria Bakalova

Maria exudes retro vibes in this dreamy white princess gown. Even though she kept her eye makeup minimal with just a hint of a warm peach eyeshadow, we simply cannot take our eyes off that gorgeous red colour that ties her outfit beautifully.

06. Angela Basset

This has to be one of our favourite makeup looks from the night. While most celebrities chose to opt for simple eye makeup and bold lips, Angela’s stunning blue smokey eye was a welcome change. She kept the rest of her makeup quite simple with flushed cheeks and a nude pink pout.
