After a stream of virtual runways taking centre stage in 2021, the SS21 Paris Couture Fashion Week feels like a breath of fresh air. The extravagance of a couture runway season has always been an obsession for beauty enthusiasts. Why? You get to see the most OTT beauty looks on the runway ever. And the latest instalment of the couture week does not fail us — it is adventurous, grand and aspirational even for seasoned beauty lovers.
Yes, designers, hair artists and MUAs have not held back what they wanted to present on the runway and here are some of our personal faves from the presentations.
- 01. Valentino’s opulence
- 02. Fendi’s drip
- 03. Chanel’s peach explosion
- 04. Viktor & Rolf’s 70s glam rock
- 05. Giambattista Valli’s floral vision
- 06. Schiaparelli in bleach and red
- 07. Dior’s details
01. Valentino’s opulence

Chances are you've already seen this statuesque looking model all over your social media. For Valentino’s Haute Couture digital presentation, the beauty brief was to highlight the person within the garment. Thus the shimmery gold faces walking down the runway with a straight face and shiny hair.
02. Fendi’s drip

Fendi brought out the big guns for their show — supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss to name a few. For the Fendi SS21 Haute Couture presentation, the models were literally dripping with sensual details. A wet hair look paired with luminous and fresh skin made the models gleam in the glamour shots.
03. Chanel’s peach explosion

We loved the whole ‘be your own knight in shining armour’ vibe of Chanel's SS21’s presentation. Floral headgears paired with peachy blushed and freckled cheeks make this one of the prettiest monotone makeup moments we have ever seen on the runway.
04. Viktor & Rolf’s 70s glam rock

Inspired by 70s glam rocker Pat Benatar, Viktor & Rolf’s were given the most outrageously chic mullet for the runway. “Bright blushers, pale silver lids combined with metallic blends and lips” is how the MUA described the looks.
05. Giambattista Valli’s floral vision

To perfectly match Giambattista Valli’s floral collection’s extravagance, the models were put in big headgears. Under the floral headgears were big beehive hairstyles as well. We absolutely love how the models have been styled to merge with the gowns, fulfilling the fantasy many women have had — to live like a pretty dress for a day.
06. Schiaparelli in bleach and red

Schiaparelli had some really strong accessories moments in their SS21 presentation. We saw models with sleek hair (bleached or jet black), and lips painted in red or gold to balance it off. Peachy lids and a luxe, glowing complexion completes the beauty brief and looks so strikingly beautiful.
07. Dior’s details

Legendary fashion house Dior presented a collection inspired by “symbols and colours of the tarot deck referring to Monsieur Dior's superstitious beliefs.” The beauty details given to these looks are some of the finest in the whole season, with this braided look being one of our absolute favourites.
