NYFW: Face Masks And Bold, Bright Eye Makeup Looks Dominated The Runway This Season
Written by Sanya HamdaniSep 23, 2020
The pandemic has delayed a lot of events and altered several others, the New York Fashion Week is no different. While many designers decided to not be a part of the show this year, others found creative ways to showcase their collection amid the pandemic. One accessory that stood out and dominated the runways was… no points for guessing… face masks.
But MUAs more than made up for the avant garde makeup looks that were missing this year by playing up the eyes with bold and bright hues. Scroll down to see the most stunning face mask and eye makeup pairings spotted at NYFW.
Alice and Olivia presented each of their outfits with a matching mask but what caught our attention was the stunning eye makeup look paired with each of them. The black and bold eyeshadow blended all over the lids made a bold statement.
Makeup artist Vincent Oquendo created a pretty graphic eye looks to complement Christian Siriano’s beautiful clothes and mask collection. The hint of yellow eyeshadow paired with the cat-eye takes this look several notches higher.
Instead of matching hues with the outfit, the makeup trend spotted at Monse draws its inspiration from the mask. A simple swipe of red eyeshadow extending up to the brows creates a subtle, yet dramatic effect.
This aqua blue floating crease liner looks trendy and minimalist. To create this Chromat inspired look, take a blue eyeliner and draw a neat wing at the outer corner of the eyes and a curved line at the crease.
To complement the zig-zag quilting on Zero + Maria Cornejo’s sustainable collection, makeup artist Dick Page created an uneven electric blue eye look. This imperfect blending adds drama to the whole look.
