Although Diwali 2020 was a relatively low-key and quieter affair than usual, it did not dampen Bollywood’s spirit in anyway. Our lovely B-Town ladies still turned up for Diwali and taash parties wearing their finest festive ensembles and looking totally glam.
Apart from the outfits, what we enjoyed thoroughly were the beautiful hair and makeup looks spotted on some of our favourite actresses. If you were too busy bingeing on Diwali sweets and meeting fam to scroll through your Instagram feed, then you’re in for a treat. Here’s a roundup of our absolute favourite hair and makeup looks spotted during Diwali 2020. Go ahead, feast your eyes…
- Slick side-parted low ponytail

Mrunal Thakur has been sporting a lot of slicked back hairstyles of late and she continued this tradition for Diwali as well. We loved how perfect this simple slicked-back low ponytail with the extreme side-parting looks for an intimate puja at home. She paired this hairstyle with dewy skin, lightly defined eyes and a bright orange lippie. If this isn’t super festive, then we don’t know what is!

Bhumi Pednekar looked like an absolute vision in a red Ridhi Mehra outfit. She styled her hair in a textured low ponytail, which was further adorned with fresh roses. What we loved the most about this hairdo is that Bhumi stuck to her natural hair texture, keeping her hairstyle really fresh and quick.

No festive hairstyle is ever complete without that perfectly imperfect messy bun, and that’s exactly what Hina Khan chose this time around. We love the minimally styled messy texture and the loose face-framing tendrils. The golden lids, matte skin and tiny bindi all come together to complete this look so beautiful.

Janhvi’s long and lustrous hair can give anyone a run for their money. This Diwali, she styled her hair in long, voluminous waves and finished it with a simple, twisted half-up half-down hairstyle. To define her hairstyle just a little bit, she added a delicate maang tikka that instantly elevated her otherwise simple hairdo.

Is any festive hairstyle list ever complete without a gajra-adorned bun? The lovely Tara Sutaria was seen sporting a sleek mid-parted bun, which she completed with a gajra. We love how this simple, classic hair accessory instantly breathes life into this plain Jane hairstyle.

Not one to shy away from experimenting, Sonam Kapoor styled her hair with this stunning bejewelled headband. Apart from her hairstyle, the actress’s eye makeup deserves a special mention here. The inverted cat eye may not be an obvious choice for most people, but Sonam carries it with so much panache!
