The first-ever digital edition of the Lakmé Fashion Week has wrapped up and we are still hungover with all the fabulous looks that were served. We are particularly hung up on the distinctive and striking makeup looks that were created for this season’s desi ensembles. All of them are perfectly capable of being recreated by yourselves for the festive season. Yes, the runway looks were focused on beautiful, fresh skin paired with hints of shimmer or matte shades, bright-eyes and a little bit of colour on the lips. This vibe is perfect for the intimate and low-key festive ceremonies we’ll be having this year. So, without further ado, here are five makeup trends from Lakmé Fashion Week 2020 that you can steal for your festive glam…
- 01. All about that pout
- 02. Intense metallics with a muted face
- 03. Subtle graphic liner
- 04. All-over shimmer
- 05. Gloss vs. matte
01. All about that pout

Hemang Agrawal’s signature brocades were contrasted with a bold matte lip and structured sunnies. A cool look if you’re bored of sporting the usual pinks and reds for the festive season.

02. Intense metallics with a muted face

Rimzim Dadu’s show-stopping presentation was lit with fluorescent lights to bring out the metallic make of the clothes. A smokey eye moment created with shimmering silver on the lid and a dramatic metallic blue wing tip added so much dimension to the whole look.

03. Subtle graphic liner

Sukriti & Aakriti’s Neo-phulkari collection was a sight for sore eyes! Combining bohemian and modern aesthetics, the beautiful festival collection was paired with a subtle graphic liner with minimal colour fill. A lit-from-within complexion and sheer, glossy lips completed this look.

04. All-over shimmer

Ridhi Mehra’s romantic LFW presentation consisted of rich fabrics like chiffon and organza with mirror embroidery fused into gota, zari, silk and even prints. The beauty looks for these garments were bronzed eyes, a creamy pout and all-over shimmer. This particular glow-for-the-gods trend also happens to be an international makeup trend as well… so, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and re-create it for yourself.

05. Gloss vs. matte

For Aisha Rao’s fabulous florals, glossy lids were paired with a matte complexion to create a minimal glam look, fit for the brightly lit festive evenings. The lids have been topped with a hint of gloss and the cheeks flushed just a bit with sheer blush to keep the complexion looking fresh.
