Aquarius season is here and that means one thing for Bollywood buffs like us — Deepika Padukone’s birthday! What can be said about her that hasn’t been reiterated a million times already? She’s the ultimate regal queen and has established the title rightly so with her acting skills, mental health advocacy and of course, her breathtaking beauty. So, on her birthday today, we decided to pay tribute to this beauty the BB team way by decoding one of her makeup looks that made us go ooh-la-la. This look is perfect for a virtual Bollywood-themed birthday party *aquarians take notes* and is surely the whimsical twist we all need. So let’s say happy birthday to the one and only Deepika Padukone and have a go at this makeup look.
Face and lips
Step #1: Prep your face with a moisturiser followed by massaging it with a jade roller (optional) to nourish your skin and prep it for all the makeup to follow. Next, take a gel-based primer like the Lakmé Absolute Undercover Gel Primer and apply it all over your face and neck.
Step #2: Take a few drops of a full coverage foundation like the Lakmé Absolute 3D Cover Foundation and blend it with a damp beauty sponge on your face and neck. Go over your blemishes and under-eye area with the Lakmé 9to5 Primer + Matte Liquid Concealer for a flawless finish.
Step #3: It’s time to contour your nose, cheekbones and jaw. Brush your bronzer all over your face with a light hand, concentrating more on the hollows of your face.
Step #4: Go for a peachy blush like the Lakmé 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher - Peach Affair and blend it on your cheeks (don’t go overboard or you’ll end up looking like a clown).
Step #5: Opt for a liquid highlighter like the Lakmé Absolute Liquid Highlighter and blend it on the high points of your face like the top of cheekbones, brow bone, cupid’s bow, the centre of the forehead, the tip of nose and chin.
Step #6: Go for a matte nude lip shade like the Lakmé Absolute Precision Lip Paint - Alluring Nude and dab it on your lips. Finish off makeup with a dewy setting spray.
Step #1: Prime your eyes and blend in a nude shade all over your eyelid. Once done go over your crease with a slightly darker nude shade and blend it properly.
Step #2: Take a liquid eyeliner like the Lakmé Eyeconic Liquid Eyeliner and create a thicker than usual winged eyeliner and angle your wing slightly upwards (or depending on what works for your eye shape). Then, use the eyeliner to make a small line parallel to the winged eyeliner from your lower lash line.
Step #3: It’s time to create va-va-voom lashes using the Lakmé Eyeconic Volume Mascara. Apply 2-3 coats using the wiggle and swipe technique.
This look is so out there yet understated, which makes it super versatile for any event and honestly takes very little effort. Here’s to our limitless queen and we hope you keep shining on like this for years to come!
