As we bid adieu to another fantastic edition of Lakmé Fashion Week, we are left with a sense of satisfaction at all the makeup and hair looks we saw. Some trends emerged stronger than the others and are front-runners for what we will see everywhere in the upcoming fashion season. Glossy eyelids, glossy skin and textured almost-imperfect hair were all over the runways this season.

Day 5 of the Lakmé Fashion Week S/R ’19 saw some innovative and experimental looks on the ramps...

Freckles, but better

Freckles, but better

A new and innovative way of using glitter was seen at the Shriya Som and the Shehlaa Khan shows. Chunky glitter was dabbed along the central panel of the face to give the illusion of freckles. Glittery genius!

Glossy lids, but glossier

Glossy lids, but glossier

Glossy lids took a whole new meaning at this season’s Lakmé Fashion Week. Transparent, glossy lids ruled the runways and the same glossy effect was also seen on the highest points of the cheeks, in the Mishru, Aikeyah and Abhishek Sharma shows.

Pro tip: Dab Vaseline Pure Skin Jelly on your cheekbones and lids to achieve a similar glossy effect.

Lilac lips, but better

Lilac lips, but better

Lilac is a very underutilised colour in makeup. Predominantly a cool-undertoned colour, it can be difficult to pull it off on warmer skin tones. Lable Latha and Sailesh Singhania’s collections featured a lot of natural fabrics and handwoven textiles and were paired with a rather daring lilac lip and eyeshadow.
