It's the second Monday of September, and it's finally time for fashion and beauty's biggest night of the year — the 2021 Met Gala. And this time, it's going to be double the fun! We witnessed gorgeous looks on the beige carpet after a two-year-long hiatus, each staying true to the theme of the year: ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’.
Apart from trailing ball gowns, sweatpants (we see you, Timothée Chalamet), and socially-charged gowns, what we also saw was a star-studded outpour of beauty looks, each more jaw-dropping than the last. Ahead, we're listing down the best beauty looks from the 2021 Met Gala. Take notes, and remember, it's going to be back next week, too!
- 1. Rihanna
- 2. Billie Eilish
- 3. Naomi Osaka
- 4. Kaia Gerber
- 5. Megan Fox
- 6. Iman
- 7. Gigi Hadid
- 8. Kendall Jenner
- 9. Amanda Gorman
- 10. Special mention: Kim Kardashian
1. Rihanna

Listen, no listicle about the Met Gala can get started sans the queen of the carpet, Rihanna. Riri's on-fleek mauve eyeshadow paired perfectly with the fall-perfect berry lips, wispy eyelashes and lighter brows. And the crystal-encrusted headgear? This one's a winner.
2. Billie Eilish

One of the co-chairs for the night, Billie, departed from her regular oversized-fits and e-girl-makeup look and instead opted for a beauty look that screamed old-world glam. The musician donned a soft, tousled bob, a sharp liner, rosy cheeks, and pink lips, and we're here for it.
3. Naomi Osaka

The second co-chair for the night, Naomi Osaka's beauty look at the 2021 Met Gala, combined her Haitian and Japanese heritage with a unique hairstyle that amalgamated the two. Reddish-pink eyes that bled into her cheeks and a bold red lip completed her look.
4. Kaia Gerber

For her first Met Gala appearance, Kaia Gerber kept things simple and minimal. The model let her natural beauty do the talking and kept her base natural with slightly blushed cheeks, nearly bare lids and brushed up brows while giving the nod to old-world glam with her soft-curled bob.
5. Megan Fox

One day after making waves on the VMAs red carpet with her Kim K-esque look, Megan Fox returned with a completely different, bold look. The actor wore faux-fringes and a bold red lip while opting for a cat eye and heavy contour that showed off her chiselled face.
6. Iman

IMO, Iman was the real winner of the red carpet — she looked radiant, in more ways than one — and she had the beauty look nailed to the T. The supermodel stuck to all-luminous everything when it came to her makeup, apart from her eyes which were smoked out.
7. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid's look blew our minds for a lot of reasons, starting with her Little Mermaid-like red hair. The model stuck to one of the hottest trends of this season, icy blue eyeshadow while keeping the rest of her makeup minimal.
8. Kendall Jenner

Kendall and Gigi may have walked the Met Gala 2021 carpet together, but their looks deserve special mentions separately. Kendall kept it true to her usual style, opting for barely-there makeup and sticking to her iconic sleek bun. Also, we see the little over-lining she did there.
9. Amanda Gorman

Poet Amanda Gorman was the third co-chair of the night, and she looked absolutely stunning. With glitter scattered across her face in an almost ethereal way and a tiara-headband on her half-bun, half-braid hair, we're blown away.
10. Special mention: Kim Kardashian

Hear us out! Kim K might have covered up from head to toe, but we're just leaving this here to speculate. Did she do her makeup just to cover up completely? Is she bare-faced in there? Is this going to lead to a big reveal in next week's event? Guess we’ll just have to wait and watch.
