The New York Fashion Week Spring Summer ‘21 season has officially gained momentum and all the fashionable looks are pouring in. A combination of digital presentations, fashion films, socially distanced runways and even 3-D rendered shows, NYFW is setting the precedent for many future fashion shows in the post-pandemic world. But, its method of presentation isn’t the only thing that reflects Fall 2020 trends, it is the makeup as well.

This season has been all about being minimal in the most effective way. Given that makeup artists have to quickly do up models to keep maintaining social distancing, the looks coming out are low-maintenance and easy to replicate. Here are some of our favourite makeup looks we’ve seen till now...

1. Soft glam

Here’s how you create a soft glam look — light contour, an eyeshadow look that comprises of a matte and metallic finish, and a nude glossy lip. Badgley Mischka’s spring florals and tassels were paired with the minimal glam to best suit the lovely outdoors and look approachable at the same time.

2. Floral whimsy

For designer Anna Sui, fresh-faced models with well-prepped, dewy complexions were the key to style her equally dreamy collection with. The no-makeup look was only elevated with painted on daisy patterns for a whimsical vibe.

3. 60s lashes

As a fashion house that never deters from its romantic aesthetic no matter the season, Rodarte delivered yet another collection that screams ‘love’! The makeup was radiant with dewy highlights, beige nude lips with rosy undertones and our favourite detail on the list… 60s inspired wispy lashes!

4. Au naturel

Veronica Beard’s models presented her print-heavy collection with a muted and fresh face. The natural skin was achieved by layering moisturising balms and topped off with faux freckles to keep it effortless. A hint of bronzer on the apple of the cheeks and sheer highlighter all-over completed the look.

5. Shock shadows

From neon orange wings to going heavy on electric blues and lime green, Bibhu Mohapatra’s fashion presentation was a vision in colour. Mimicking the vibrant hues of her clothes, this vibrant eye look was the most OTT we saw a designer go all season (makeup-wise), yet!
