2021 is the year of comebacks! We’ve seen trends from the 80s and 90s surface on our Insta feeds in the last two months. Hence, it's no surprise that beauty trends from the 2000s are also making their presence felt now. Our favourite celebrities are already on board with this trend and you should be too! Because who doesn’t like face-framing tendrils and lip gloss?
Want to know how to recreate your favourite beauty trends from the 2000s in 2021? Here’s all the celebrity inspiration you need!
01. Rhinestone eyes

Remember Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham wearing embellishment on the corner of her eyes back in the day? It became such a big trend that stick-on stars, sequins and metallic accents became as common as any other accessory. Looks like the trend is back in a more sophisticated way. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja elevated her winged eyeliner by placing rhinestones on the corner of her eyes and we love elegant it looks.
02. Silver eye makeup

The silver metallic lids from the 2000s, which most of us didn’t like and thought were gone for good, are back. Thankfully, their comeback version is far better and super wearable. Take cues from Kriti Kharbanda’s statement silver eyeshadow look. Keep the rest of your makeup simple and pair it with nude lipstick to balance the look.
03. Face framing tendrils

Face framing tendrils were huge in the 2000s but most didn't opt for it because K serials made it look like a hairstyle that only vamps went for. That’s not the case in 2021. Go for a high ponytail or bun and let loose a few tendrils like Janhvi Kapoor.

If you remember standing in front of the mirror and trying to create puffs no matter which hairstyle you wore, then you’re a true 2000s kid. The trend is back and how! With a lot more volumising products at our disposal, creating puffs in 2021 will be a lot easier!
05. Lip gloss

If you don’t like the texture of matte lipsticks and wore them only cause you didn’t want to look outdated, we have some good news. Lip gloss is back in natural-looking shades and Ananya Panday is already on board with the trend. So say bye-bye to matte lipsticks and hello to lip glosses that make your lips look glossy and dewy.
