Despite being in the middle of a pandemic, the hair and makeup trends spotted at the London Fashion Week SS21 have definitely given us something to be excited for and look forward to in the coming season.

A majority of the trends spotted at the ongoing fashion week aimed to keep things pretty natural and wearable, which we thought was such a fresh, welcome change from the OOT looks we are used to seeing at fashion week! From colour-blocked eyes and statement red lips to long and effortless looking tresses, simplicity with a much-needed side of fun was definitely a unifying theme at the London Fashion Week SS21.

Read on for our favourite hair and makeup trends spotted on the runway…

Bare faces

A makeup trend that was seen across a lot of shows at the London Fashion Week was barely-there base makeup with special emphasis on dewy, fresh-faced skin. This is one of the most wearable trends spotted at the fashion week and requires just two main products to recreate – medium coverage foundation and highlighter. We are definitely crushing on this one!

Colour blocked eyes

Colour blocked eyes

Colourful eye makeup is such a welcome change after the dark colour palette of fall and winter. We love how the fresh, bright colours help alleviate an otherwise simple makeup. Don’t miss the bright blue inner corner highlight that creates a beautiful contrast.

The retro hair trend spotted at the Erdem and Simone Rocha shows will transport you right back to the Elizabethan era. We love how dramatic this hairdo is, and the old-worldly charm definitely pleased the nerd in us.

Effortless, natural hair

In keeping with the wearable vibe of a majority of trends, the natural and minimally styled locks were just perfect. This provided a very laidback and casual appeal, which according to us, is perfect in sync with the minimal makeup looks that are all the rage this year. Agree?

Red lips

We are so glad that the classic red lip paired with an otherwise nude face is back in vogue. This is the most versatile lip colour shade any girl can own, plus there are just so many different ways you can style it in. Pair it with an LBD and winged eyeliner for a classic look or opt for sheer golden eyeshadow and flushed cheeks for a slightly more dramatic look — either way, you’re sure to steal the show!
