This is why, we have shared some simple ways in which you can hydrate your hair and keep them hydrated, healthy and lustrous all through the summer months...
- Regular deep conditioning
- Change your shampoo
- Minimise heat styling
- Cover your hair
- Overnight hair treatments
Regular deep conditioning
Just like in the winters, your hair needs to be deeply conditioned during the summer months too. Look for hair masks with natural moisturising ingredients such as avocado, aloe vera, olive oil and almond oil to intensely hydrate your hair. Use a hydrating hair mask at least once a week for best results.
Change your shampoo
The shampoo that worked for your strands in the winter, isn’t necessarily work in the same way during summers too. Summer makes your hair thirstier than usual, which is why it is imperative that you use a moisturising shampoo such as the Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo. It gently cleanses and moisturises hair to make it look thicker and bouncier.
Minimise heat styling
The summer heat is extremely harsh on your hair and when you use extra heat from your styling tools, you tend to make this problem a lot worse. This can further dry and damage your strands. Take a break from regular heat styling to keep your hair feeling long and strong.
Cover your hair
Just like your skin, your needs protection from the sun too. Covering your hair is the easiest way to prevent your hair from sun damage. Wrap your hair up in a hat, scarf, or chic turban. Before going for a swim, put on a swim cap to protect your hair from UV rays and chlorine. Go the extra mile to wash your hair thoroughly after exiting the pool.
Overnight hair treatments
Night time repair is just as effective for your hair as it is for your skin. Apply a natural, moisturising oil from the mid lengths to the ends of your hair and leave them overnight. This helps thoroughly nourish and moisturise your hair.
