The constant teasing, colouring and styling can take a serious toll on the health of your hair. It is only ideal to give them some TLC and pamper them with luxurious treatments. Treating them with hydrating masks is a brilliant way to bring back its lost shine.
There are many stigmas around hair masks and its effects. While some think it’ll make their hair greasy, others feel they will need to sit still for five hours straight if they use hair masks. What if we tell you that none of the above is true? Here are hair mask tips no one told you about…

Applying to dry hair is fine
Applying hair masks doesn’t necessarily require you to have damp hair. You can apply a mask to dry hair too. Make this a Sunday morning activity, right before your shower. Apply a hydrating hair mask and let it absorb for about 20 minutes before rinsing it with a shampoo and following it up with a conditioner.

Sleep with a hair mask on
For extremely dry locks that lack lustre, this trick could work wonders. Apply a hair mask either at the end of your shower or to dry hair. Cover it with a shower cap or a silk scarf. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water in the morning and notice how dry mane transforms into smooth, silky locks overnight.

It’s not time-consuming
For all those who think hair-masking is an all-day event, let us burst the bubble! You do not have to leave your hair mask on for hours. You can simply put in a mask for 2-5 minutes while you’re in the shower and achieve the moisture boost that your hair needs.

Comb the mask through
A wide-tooth comb is your best bet when it comes to combing wet hair. It protects your hair from breakage and helps detangle faster. Similarly, it also comes in handy with a hair mask. Comb the mask through to the ends of your hair to make sure you’ve applied it to every last spot before you let it sit.

The ends need extra TLC
While treating your hair with a hair mask, concentrate on the ends. The ends of your hair are most fragile (split ends, anyone?) and therefore need the most loving. Evenly spread the mask all over your hair so that every strand receives the much-needed hydration and moisturisation.
