For most of us beauty enthusiasts, not being able to go to the salon for almost a month can seriously disrupt our beauty schedule! From those regular trims to hair colour touch-ups, there is a lot that we won’t be able to do during the lockdown.
Such a bummer, isn’t it? But if grey roots or fading hair colour is your problem, then we are about to give you one less reason to fret. Here are some kickass tips on how to maintain that hair colour and prevent it from fading fast during the quarantine.
- Switch your parting
- Wash your hair less often
- Use the right hair care products
- Avoid too much sun exposure
Switch your parting

Your roots are the first and the fastest place to show a clear demarcation between your natural hair and coloured hair. And the best way to conceal this would be to create a deep side parting instead of your usual parting. Apart from concealing your roots, it will also give you an altogether new look. How cool is that?!
Wash your hair less often

Washing your hair gradually strips your hair of colour. Therefore, it is best to limit hair washing to once or twice a week only. Since you are staying at home during this time, that shouldn’t be a problem. Plus, it will ensure that your colour stays on for a longer period of time.
Use the right hair care products

When you do wash your hair, it is really important to use colour protecting shampoos and conditioners. Ensure that your hair care products are free of SLS to make the colour last longer. In case you are using heat on your hair, make sure that you use a heat protectant as well as a smoothing serum to prevent any further hair damage.
Avoid too much sun exposure

Even though you won’t be going out too much during this time of lockdown, it is still important to take necessary precautions when you do. Since UV exposure has the power to fade your hair colour faster, it would make sense to cover your hair with a scarf or hat each time you step out during the day.
