How To Try Hair Plopping For Frizz-free Curly Hair
Written by Dayle PereiraJun 08, 2017
If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that curly hair doesn’t get its fair share of attention. While curls are bouncy and full of life, they need a separate set of instructions on how to give them the TLC they deserve. Although so many women have this hair type, it’s a shame that there are such few hair tips for it. If you’re a curly haired girl who feels this way too, cheer up because there’s a hair care technique in town that’s going to change the way you care for your curly hair.
Unlike straight hair and wavy locks, curly hair has distinctive rings running through it. They can be tight curls or loose ones and in order to care for them in the right way, they require a suitable hair care routine. When curly hair isn’t treated right, it can get frizzy and dull while losing its unique ringlets.
So what’s hair plopping got to do with it?
Curly haired ladies, bow down to hair plopping because this hair technique is about to change everything that you knew about your hair. In hair plopping, a leave-in hair product is applied to wet hair post a shower and then, the tresses are tightly tied up in an absorbent towel.
How does hair plopping help curly hair?
Hair plopping does a great deal of good for curly hair. Firstly, as this hair type has curly texture, the hair plopping technique emphasises the natural definition of the tresses. Secondly, it helps dry the hair quicker which cuts down on time and hassle. Thirdly, as hair plopping keeps hair wound tightly while drying, the chances of curly hair turning frizzy and dry are non-existent. That’s more than enough reason to try it out on your own hair.
How do you hair plop curly hair?
If you would like to try the hair plopping technique for yourself, here’s what you need to do.
Step 1 – Start by washing and conditioning your hair with the Dove Dryness Care Shampoo and Conditioner. Formulated with the power of Pro-Moisture Complex, this duo deeply nourishes the hair from inside and keeps it safe from daily wear and tear. It’s all you need for hair that’s silky and smooth.
Step 2 – Once you’re out of the bath, use a soft, absorbent towel to gently wipe your tresses until they are about 30% dry.
Step 3 – Then apply a bit of TIGI Ego Boost over your mid lengths and ends. Its delightfully fragranced formula will condition your hair to leave it healthy and smooth as ever.
Step 4 – Hold your head upside down, place a towel at the back of your neck and use it to wrap the entire length of hair. Tightly wind the towel in a conical shape, leave it for 20 minutes and then open your hair for the rest of it to air dry naturally.
