What is the Inversion Method?

A new hair growth trend that recently surfaced on the internet. The inversion method, as the term suggests, involves you to invert yourself or just your head to induce hair growth. Wondering how that happens? It’s simple. When you bend your head or body, it increases blood flow to your head and scalp. It’s believed that this helps hair grow one to two inches a month. People are using inversion tables, doing headstands or putting their head in between their legs to increase the flow of blood to the scalp.

Since this method comes with no known side effects, so there’s no harm in giving it a try. All you need is hair oil and a place to invert.

Begin by warming a small amount of oil in a bowl (coconut, castor, jojoba, almond, grapeseed, etc.). Massage the oil into your scalp using your fingertips. Make sure every area of your scalp is covered. Then, bend forward to invert your body; you can also lie on the bed facing the ceiling while your head hangs over the end of the bed. Do this twice a day, for three to five minutes. Leave the oil on your hair for at least two hours before washing it off.

While there is no research to back this technique, it is a natural remedy. Even if it doesn’t work for you, it won’t harm or cause hair fall. Having said that, if you have health concerns like high blood pressure or heart disease, we’d recommend you give this one a miss. If you don’t have any health issues and decide to try this, don’t do it beyond a point where you feel nauseous or uncomfortable.
