Thought your flat iron could only straighten your frizzy and fuzzy mane? Well, clearly you underestimated your much-loved hair tool. Turns out, you can use your hair straightener to getting red carpet-ready curls too. From wild beach waves to Hollywood curls, you can do it all with your flat iron. Of course, how you hold the tool and what technique you use is the key to getting the curl you want, and we are going to show you exactly how it’s done. Here are not one but three types of gorgeous curls you can get with your flat iron.
Spiral curls

Take a small section and clamp it in your flat iron. Flip the tail of the section over the flat iron and slowly move it down. Hold the iron vertical as you reach the end of the hair and unclamp. Repeat it with the rest of your hair and secure the gorgeous curls with some hairspray.
Crimped waves

Make four to five tightly woven braids according to your hair volume, and secure with a hair tie. Run the flat iron along the braids pressing and holding sections for 10 seconds at a time. Open the braids and use hairspray.
Beach waves

Clamp a small section of hair and starting from the roots, twist it in an inward direction and hold for five seconds. Move down and twist it outward this time. Repeat this pattern and keep twisting in opposite directions till you reach the end. Run your fingers through your hair and you’re done.
