Raise your hands if you share a love-hate relationship with your curly mane. The gorgeous and coveted hair texture is no breeze when it comes to styling. It takes patience, skills and TLC to make them behave all day…and they still don’t (kinda feels like parenting sometimes, TBH).

Do your unkempt, unmanageable curls give you a hard time when you try to style it? Fret not! We have a few tricks up our sleeves that will make styling your curly, frizzy hair a breeze. Take a look.

Blow-dry on the cool setting

Excess heat can make your curls dry and frizzy, and that is something you definitely don’t want. Blow drying strategically can help though.

Put your blow dryer on the cool setting and dry your hair in sections until it is relatively dry (not completely). Then switch it to the hot setting and keep it close to your scalp, working your way to the bottom. This reduces frizz and gives you smoother, defined curls.

Scrunch your curls

Scrunching is the way to get sculpted and clumped waves in your hair. After you’ve washed your hair, scrunch your hair from the bottom to the top to get rid of the excess water. Similarly, scrunch it while blow-drying, styling and curling to create beautiful texture and volume in your hair.

Detangle with care

You need to be extra careful and gentle while detangling your curls. Also, use a comb instead of a brush to minimize frizz and define your curls. Here’s a tip you probably didn’t know—detangle your hair when it’s partially wet. It lets your hair dry in its natural pattern, which isn’t possible when it’s dry and loaded with products.

Mix up two products

Can’t find a product that boosts shine and volume, while also hydrating your mane? Try product cocktailing. What is that you ask? It is basically the process of mixing two or three different compatible products and applying on your hair, without weighing it down. Mix any anti-frizz or shine serum with a mousse and get tons of bounce and shine, sans flyaways.

Use a curl defining cream

When all else fails (and your mane is still annoyingly unmanageable), just get an expert to do the job for you. And by an expert, we mean a curl defining cream like the TIGI Bed Head On The Rebound Curl Recall Cream that fights frizz, enhances your curls and makes styling it a cakewalk. Apply it evenly to your hair, scrunch it, brush it and get going.
