Lob or long bob is all the rage right now. Celebrities and models who have always loved their long tresses have decided to go for a short and edgier look. Right from Deepika Padukone to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anushka Sharma, everyone has hopped on the short hair bandwagon.

Getting a lob is a major decision, especially if you have fine hair. The fear that your lob wouldn’t look great and fall flat on your head might prevent you from trying this stylish hairstyle. But fret not, we’ve got your back. Here are three ways to ensure your lob looks voluminous…

Avoid air drying

Most women would think the answer to fuller and voluminous tresses lies in letting their hair air dry. That’s not true; air drying will only leave you with frizzy hair that’s difficult to manage. In fact, a lot of styling products that your stylist may have recommended after the chop are activated by heat. Therefore flip your head over and blow dry using a round hairbrush. Once your hair is 80% dry, flip it back and blowdry the rest.

Curl your hair

Another easy way to add volume, waves and texture to your hair is by curling it. We do not recommend using a curling wand because your hair is short and the curls might look too tight. Instead, you can use a hair straightener; pick sections of about 1 inch to 1 ½ inch and twist it away from the face. While picking the next section, twist it in the opposite direction. By alternating the direction of each twist your hair will look volumized and effortlessly stylish. Once you are done twisting each section, flip your hair over and run your fingers through then spray some texturizing spray.

Avoid washing your hair too often

You probably know this already but some people can’t go without washing their hair daily. Skipping hair wash will make your hair look fuller at the roots. Invest in a dry shampoo if your hair or scalp gets greasy, it will control the oil and lift hair at the roots.
