Teeny tiny, itty-bitty baby braids that flawlessly blend with your mane are not new to hair enthusiasts. These trends found their start in 1960 retro Hollywood and made their way to desi aesthetics in mid-90s with top actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor rocking them too…

The trend has re-emerged in the Insta generation and by the looks of it, millennials and Gen Z can’t get enough of them. Baby braids are cute, super easy to recreate and be paired with any kind of hairdo. Here are some of the trendy baby braids hairstyles that we personally forwarded to our BFF group DMs!

The jury on the most popular baby braid hairstyle is out and it is the look with loose tendrils in the font braided into slender perfection and paired with natural, brushed out tresses. The trick to skipping a hair tie is spritzing some strong hold hairspray on your thumb and index finger, and rubbing the end of your braids in-between them to prevent them from loosening.
02. Half up Baby Spice

The Baby Spice half up half down hairdo has been given an upgrade by adding baby braids in the front. Start by braiding a bit further away from the scalp to avoid tugging on your roots too much.
03. Mix and match

This one might need an experienced stylist’s touch to pull off, but multi-coloured braided extensions can be so cool for a summer vacay. Add chic tassels to the mix and we can see your tropical destination story highlights complete itself!

If you’re looking for ways to jazz up the everyday ponytail, adding a baby braid in there will do the trick. Make sure to make a baby braid from mid-lengths to hair tips before you put your hair into a pony.

Baby braids are more than just a casual staple — they can be incorporated into festive hairstyles too. Add a couple with lovely beachy waves or too even painstakingly perfected voluminous ones.
