A bad hair day can do a lot worse than just dampen your mood, it can also make you make your own worst enemy and make getting ready in the morning seem like a task. Matters are worse during the monsoon season because the increased humidity in the air can result in bad hair days more often than you’d like to deal with.

But fret not, we’re here to make sure a bad hair day (or few) don’t come in the way of you looking your stylish best. Here are five updo hairstyles that are perfect for the monsoon season.

Side twist messy bun

Take advantage of the natural frizz that comes with the monsoon air and use it to create this stunning hairdo! Part your hair on one side and create chunky twists that lead to a messy lower bun. Let loose some face framing tendrils and you’re done. Secure your bun with a small claw clip for that undone look.

To get this hairdo, start by putting the front section of your hair in a pouffe and pin. Next, brush the rest of your hair into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. With a curling iron or hair straightener, add soft waves in the pony.

P.S. Don’t forget to spray some Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray before applying heat to your hair.

Much like the poofy ponytail we saw above, add one extra step and style double tendrils in the front. Add soft waves to these tendrils in order to create a lovely face-framing hairdo.

We are settling the age-old scrunchie debate right here… yes, they are cool. Silk scrunchies are also perfect for countering frizziness; thus making them the right accessory for monsoon. Use a big scrunchie to put your hair into a top knot and watch the compliments flow!

Another accessory that is just right for the rainy season is the scarf — yes, they are not just a ‘summery’ hair staple anymore. Pair your sleek low bun with a cute scarf and you are good to go about your day!
