Lakmē Fashion Week Spring 2024: Top 3 Makeup Trends Spotted

Lakmē Fashion Week is back once more and this time we have the spring 2024 edition in collaboration with FDCI. For this year, we have some new iconic makeup looks that have already started trending in the West and here as well from the defined contouring to over-the-top blush.

So, let’s take a look at these glamorous makeup looks that have been unveiled at our very own fashion week. And we are going to go one step further and also help you recreate them with the very same makeup kit that was used to bring these looks to life – Lakmē’s new Facelift Multislayer Sticks.

Latest Makeup Trends of 2024: Basics

2. The Multi-Tasker

The trending makeup looks of Lakmē Fashion Week Spring 2024 are all about defining your features for a lifted look. And what better way to do it than with makeup sticks which are super easy to use? Just swipe and blend with your fingers! They are super buildable for a dramatic or even a subtle look, fitting right in with your mood for the day. Oh, and if you feel like you need to touch up, just carry, say a highlighter stick with you for makeup on the go.

2. The Multi-Tasker

And don’t worry, even if makeup sticks may feel new and daunting, Lakmē has also launched a guide to help you navigate their new range. Not sure what makeup stick to use where? Their new try-on feature from the fashion week does it for you. After it scans your face, it uses number theory to explain how to apply all the stick products on your face. So, if you have a round face, it will advise you to take the highlighter stick and draw an inverted 7 on your cheeks. Easy, right?

Well, on to the latest makeup trends and some inspo for your next outing. So, if you want all the deets on how to stay on fleek at all times, read on:

Top 3 Makeup Trends at Lakmē Fashion Week Spring 2024

To narrow it down, we saw 3 major trends when it came to the makeup looks that the models sported on the runway at the Lakmē Fashion Week Spring 2024.

1. Fashionista

2. The Multi-Tasker

If the name doesn’t give it away, a fashionista is always on top of all the trends, sporting some bold look or the other. And you will always find her moulding these makeup looks into what looks the best on her.

So, of course, we saw a strain of this in Terra Tribe’s ‘INDIGENE’ collection with its nomadic and tribal aesthetic. The makeup screams 2024 with the dewy finish, graphic eyeliner and highlighter that gleams at every turn.

  • The main highlight (no pun intended) of this makeup look is the glowing base. So, if you love shiny, sparkley and highlighter makeup, it is your time to shine, literally. For the base, stick to a liquid foundation with sheer coverage and instead of powder, use a setting spray to lock in the look.

  • Now, to fill in the blanks to get this exact look, pick up the Lakmē Facelift MultiSlayer Highlighter Stick. It not only adds definition to your face but is also buildable so you can keep it subtle or go all out. Swipe it over your cheekbones, forehead, brow bone, cupid’s bow and the bridge of your nose. Then take your finger and simply blend out the edges for a hazy, blurry look.

2. Boss Lady

2. The Multi-Tasker

Now you may not have time to spend on makeup but being a working woman does not mean compromising on your appearance. So, be your own boss and dress like it with the boss lady persona that is all about feeling confident. For a no-nonsense look, it is all about embracing the fierce side of you with sharp features, a bold lip and strong eye makeup so everyone knows you are not one to be messed with.

This seems to be the theme for Yash Gada’s ‘Dhagedaar Denim’ collection which combines classic denim with the free-spirited nature of the 70s that allows your individuality to stand out.

  • Once your base is set, you can finally have fun with the Lakmē Facelift MultiSlayer Contour Stick. Glide it on the sides of your forehead, below your cheeks, the sides of your nose and your jaw. Don’t forget to blend out the edges!

  • Oh and if you are not sure about heavy eye makeup, you can bring some drama and definition to your eyes by using the same contour shade as a nude eyeshadow. You can apply it over your eyelids for a one-toned look or on the crease and outer corner of your eye for a subtle smokey look.

Two-in-one and portable makeup is all the rage now. We also have innovative formulas that allow us to blend and exude glamour with just the tip of our fingers. No need for multiple brushes and sponges. In this instance, makeup sticks are perfect for the multi-tasker in you as you can just pick one and get almost a full face of makeup. Don’t take our word for it, you can see it on the runway itself.

SWGT’s ‘Periwinkle Wednesday’ is all about rosy makeup against an angelic collection to celebrate every aspect of love. Whether it is playful or enchanting, this look adds warmth to the face to make the white and pastel outfits stand out. Create this romantic and blossoming look that is perfect for this spring and summer with red and rosy makeup.

  • First, perfect your base with the mattifying Lakmē Facelift Foundation Stick. It can give you the coverage you desire if you want to swipe it all over your face. Or if you have just a couple of blemishes to hide, it also works as a concealer, dotting and blending with your fingers just over those concerned spots.

  • And what better way to get this monochromatic makeup look than to use the same shade all over? So, say hello to the Lakmē Facelift MultiSlayer Blush Stick which can be used as a blush, eyeshadow and even on the lips. It is super pigmented so you can sport a bold look or completely blend it out for a subtle look, your call.

FAQs on Makeup Trends at Lakmē Fashion Week Spring 2024

Q1. What are the colours of 2024

While peach and glitter were a favourite at the beginning of the year, it is now all about cherry red and olive green for the colours of 2024.

Q2. How to apply makeup for a lifted look?

Once you have your base ready, you need to slightly contour your face to get that lifted illusion. When you go in with the contour stick, apply it where you see natural shadows and blend in an outward motion. As for highlighting, stick to upward diagonal directions like on your cheekbones for an angular effect. You can also apply blush similarly instead of the circular placement on the apple of your cheeks.

Q3. How to apply a foundation stick?

If you want to use it as a concealer for your nude makeup look, just dot it over the blemishes. In this case, you can simply use your fingers to blend it out. If you want full coverage, draw on stripes on your cheeks, jaw and forehead. Then take a stippling brush or a beauty blender and start dabbing to spread it all over your face. Pay special attention to your eyes, the corner of your nose and below your jawline for a perfectly blended finish.
