Carrot and honey face pack
 

Carrot and honey face pack

You need:

1 small cooked carrot

1 tbsp. honey

Method:

Make a smooth paste of the cooked carrot and honey. Cleanse your face and apply a thick paste on your skin. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it with cold water and pat dry with a towel.

Why this works:

Carrots are rich in beta carotene which helps heal and repair skin. It is also rich in antioxidants. Honey is a natural antibacterial agent and is great at preventing skin problems.

Oatmeal and yoghurt face pack
 

Oatmeal and yoghurt face pack

You need:

2 tbsp. yoghurt

2 tbsp. oatmeal

Method:

Combine the above two ingredients in a bowl and make a smooth paste. Apply this on cleansed skin and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes. Heat a pot of water and soak a face towel in the hot water. Now take the towel out and wring it. Place this steamed towel on your face mask as it will help the skin absorb the ingredients better. After a further 10 minutes, gently remove the face pack with water.

Why this works:

Oats are really good at reducing itching and inflammation of the skin. It is also a good agent to help soothe eczema and psoriasis. It is known for its healing and moisturising qualities. Yoghurt has lactic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid. This acts as a mild exfoliating agent that helps remove dead skin cells to reveal new, glowing skin.

Almond and egg face pack

You need:

Four or five ground almonds

1 egg

Method:

Grind the almonds to a fine paste. Beat the eggs and add the almond paste to it. Mix these two ingredients to form a thin, runny liquid. Apply this on your face and leave it for 20 minutes, and then rinse with water. It is best if you apply this face pack before bed time.

Why this works:

Eggs have astringent properties that help tighten pores. This gives an overall effect of tighter skin. Almonds are full of the good kind of fats and also vitamin E that help moisturise the skin and keep it supple.
