A nutrient-packed, easily available superfood, eggs offer so many health benefits that they rightly deserve a day of their own! 11th October is celebrated as World Egg Day. That’s why, today, we are taking this opportunity to talk about the beauty benefits of one of the most nutritious and protein-packed foods on the planet.
From providing hydration and elasticity to the skin to softening and strengthening your hair, eggs can do it all and more. If you still haven’t discovered the beauty benefits of this breakfast staple, this is your chance to do so!

Damaged hair
Eggs are made up of 70% keratin protein and work wonders on damaged and dry tresses. Suitable for all hair types, an egg mask will make unruly and rough hair smooth, soft and silky with regular use.
Add two tablespoons of olive oil to two eggs and mix well. Apply on hair evenly and let it stay for 30 minutes before washing off.

Shrinks pores
Tighten and shrink large pores with the help of egg whites. Egg whites contain astringent properties that have a shrinking and tightening effect on your skin.
Mix one teaspoon of egg white with freshly squeezed lemon juice and apply onto your face or the area where you have large pores. Wait for 15 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Repeat twice a week for best results.

Remove excess oil
Egg whites are great for those with excessively oily skin. Its pore minimising and skin tightening properties balance the skin’s natural oils and help remove excess oil.
Apply an even layer of egg white on a cleansed face and allow it to dry. Once it has dried off, remove the mask by splashing cold water.

Add shine to dull hair
Greasy, flat and dull hair can bring your hair game down. The easiest way to add shine and lustre to your hair is by giving it the goodness of egg.
Whisk the white from one egg until it becomes frothy and slather all over your hair. Wear a shower cap to avoid mess and wash off after 10 minutes. Allow your hair to air dry naturally for smooth and shiny hair.

Reduce under-eye puffiness
Egg whites reduce inflammation by improving blood circulation in the area it is applied to. So, if you have under-eye puffiness look no further; here’s an egg remedy that will work.
Gently massage half teaspoon of egg white under your eyes using your index finger. Rinse off thoroughly once it dries off.
