Winter is the time for parties and festivals and lots of lovely delicacies! But the aftermath is always a struggle, so we have put together a list of things you can do to balance all the delicious goodness you are going to binge on.
Here is a list of super foods that will do wonders to your digestive system and maybe you can add them to your regular diet and detox whenever necessary. Take a look…
- One fruit and about 100 seeds
- All hale ginger
- Load up on those greens
- A little something for the Basic B’s
- Citrus overload with some lemons
One fruit and about 100 seeds
Pomegranate is one of those fruits we avoid because who has the time to peel it, open it and eat it! But in this case, you will have to power through the process, because it’s totally worth it. Pomegranate acts like an ice-pack to your tummy, it will cool down all the inflammatory muscles and help you digest your food better.
All hale ginger
We all have those days, where we stuff ourselves and the regret slowly sets in! That’s when ginger steps in to save the day. It will take all your inflammatory problems, pack it in a box and send it running for the hills. Ginger is the detox you need, its antioxidants will cleanse you inside out! So make sure you include it in your diet as much as you possibly can.
Load up on those greens
After binging on all that holiday food, you are going to feel bloated and heavy! So we suggest, load up on those green leafy vegetables as often as you can, it could be spinach or beans, whatever floats your boat. This will not only keep your metabolism running with this kind of fiber intake, but also show on your skin with that au naturel glow!
A little something for the Basic B’s
Avocado is all good fat. There, we said it! You can eat as many avocado toasts as you want. The healthy fat in avocados keeps your blood sugar in control. And just half an avocado can contain up to 10gms of mono-saturated fat (read: good fat). So yea, get them avocados now!
Citrus overload with some lemons
Lemons do us good all the way and are a loyal companion to all our skin care and hair care routines too. The high acidity in the citrusy lemons balances the ph level in our body and unlike what we might think, it helps with inflammatory difficulties. You know what to do! Squeeze some lemon
juice and pour some ice, but don’t pour the vodka just yet, pour water instead and drink up!
Let the festive detox begin!
