Every woman has facial hair, usually it is fine and hardly noticeable. However, there are some women who have excessive facial hair which is also coarse and can cause a hindrance while applying makeup and skincare products. These women have to make regular appointments at the salon to get rid of unwanted facial hair.
What if we told you that a few natural ingredients from your kitchen can help solve this problem? Yes, you heard that right. DIY masks are an effective, easier, less painful and natural way of getting rid of facial hair. Read on to find out how to prepare these masks using natural ingredients.
Egg and cornflour
Egg whites are very effective in removing unwanted facial hair. Using a combination of egg white and cornflour on your face will remove hair on the face in a jiffy.
You will need:
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon cornflour
- 1 egg
Step 01: Mix sugar and cornflour in a bowl, then add one egg to form a thick paste.
Step 02: Using a face brush, apply the paste evenly all over the face in the direction of the hair growth.
Step 03: Allow it to dry for 15-20 minutes, your skin will start feeling tight at this point.
Step 04: Carefully and gently peel off the mask in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
Turmeric, rice flour and milk
Rice flour is coarse in nature which works as an exfoliator to remove facial hair. Milk ensures your skin doesn’t get too dry and keeps it nourished, whereas turmeric works as an antiseptic.
You will need:
- 1 tablespoon rice flour
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoon milk
Step 01: Mix all the ingredient together in a bowl.
Step 02: Add some water if the mixture appears too dry
Step 03: Apply all over the face and let it dry for 10 minutes.
Step 04: Wet your face and gently rub off the mask in upward circular motions.
Sugar and lemon face mask
The wax that is used in the salon to get rid of hair on the body is prepared using these two ingredients. This mask works because sugar sticks on the hair and does not cause any harm to the skin underneath. Lemon works as a natural bleaching agent in lightening the skin tone.
You will need:
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoon fresh lime juice
- 10 teaspoons of water
Step 1: Heat the three ingredients until the sugar dissolves.
Step 2: When the mixture is fairly warm apply on facial hair and let it dry.
Step 3: Let it sit for 15-20 minutes then wash off with cold water.
But here's something that you must remember - hair removal methods can be sort of harsh on your skin, and therefore, it is really important to follow it up with a soothing moisturiser to calm the skin. We recommend that you use the Ponds Light Moisturiser Non-Oily Fresh Feel With Vitamin E + Glycerine to eliminate redness, itchiness and any other sort of discomfort.
