Waxing may be the safest, quickest and easiest way to get rid of body hair, but for some, especially those with sensitive skin, may find it extremely harsh (and painful). Instead of silky, smooth skin, they are left with itchy red bumps, irritated skin and inflammation. This is one of the reasons why women with sensitive skin prefer other methods of hair removal. If you are one of them, we have a few solutions to ensure your waxing session doesn't leave you with painful, itchy and irritated skin.

01Cucumber

Aloe vera gel

Rich in antioxidants, cucumbers help calm itchy and irritated skin. Cut a few slices of cucumber and store them in the freezer for an hour. Rub these slices on your waxed skin for instant relief. You can also apply blended cucumber paste over the waxed area to soothe the skin.

02Yoghurt

Aloe vera gel

A probiotic, yogurt can reduce inflammation and redness caused due to waxing. All you need is some homemade unflavoured yoghurt. Apply it all over the affected area and let it dry before rinsing with cold water. Follow it up with a soothing moisturiser.

03Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera has soothing, cooling and moisturising properties which make it an excellent remedy to calm red and irritated skin. Take some freshly extracted aloe vera gel or store-bought gel such as the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh Body Gel and apply on inflamed skin for instant relief.
