3 ways to use the good old beauty hero sandalwood for glowing skin

Before the plethora of skincare products like serums, sheet masks and glow drops took over, women used to rely on natural ingredients for flawless skin. Ask your mom and she’d tell you about a simpler time when you could just walk over to your kitchen and grab a beauty-boosting ingredient. Turmeric, milk, lemon... the list goes on.

One such beauty hero you can find in your home is sandalwood. It is an oil-rich heartwood that’s full of beauty benefits. It can give you a brighter complexion, spotless skin and that healthy glow. Include it in your weekly beauty routine to get the starry glow naturally, without burning a hole in your pocket. How? Allow us to tell you three ways to use sandalwood for glowing skin. Take a look.

01. DIY sandalwood face mask

03.	Massage sandalwood oil

Prepare a sandalwood face mask by mixing up some other glow-boosting ingredients with it like honey and milk. Take one tablespoon of sandalwood powder in a bowl and add one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of milk to it. Mix all the ingredients and apply it evenly on a cleansed face with a facial brush. Rinse off after 15 minutes and moisturise. Do this once a week for fresh and youthful skin.

02. Apply sandalwood paste

03.	Massage sandalwood oil

Simply make a sandalwood paste by mixing equal amounts of any good natural oil like coconut oil, argan oil or olive oil and sandalwood powder. This is an easy and quick face pack you can treat your skin with when you got no time on hand. Rinse your face and apply this sandalwood paste. Let it stay for around 10 minutes before splashing it off with water. Do this weekly before bath and follow up with a cleanser and moisturiser.

03. Massage sandalwood oil

03.	Massage sandalwood oil

Massage your skin with sandalwood oil for 7-10 minutes in the night before bed to wake up to glowing and healthy-looking skin. Cleanse your face and take two tablespoons of sandalwood oil in a bowl. Heat it till it is warm and add some essential oils to it like lavenderor peppermint oil and mix. Apply this oil on your face and massage in upward motions for at least 10 minutes. Leave it overnight and wash off with lukewarm water in the morning.
