There’s a ton of things you can do to keep cool all summer long. Among one of those is spending time in your kitchen to concoct some seriously cool face spritzers (and wine coolers) that’ll be just the respite you need from the heat when you’re on the go. Here are three of our favourites…

Mint Spritz

Mint Spritz

3 tablespoons of fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons of fresh rose petals
4 cups of water

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients over low heat and just as the mixture is about to boil, turn off the heat.
Step 2: Allow it to sit idle for thirty minutes.
Step 3: Once the mixture has cooled, strain it into a spray bottle.

Tip: For a stronger colour and odour, add more rose petals and mint leaves and simmer for longer.

Cooling Cucumber Spritz

Cooling Cucumber Spritz

1 cucumber
1 1/2 cup of boiling water

Step 1: Peel the cucumber, chop it and add to the boiling water.
Step 2: Let the mixture sit idle for thirty minutes.
Step 3: Once you’re done, strain the mixture into a spray bottle.

Tip: If you want a stronger flavour you can choose two cucumbers instead of one. You can even refrigerate your spritzer whenever it’s not in use.

Citrus Spritz

Citrus Spritz

3 oranges
3 lemons
500ml of boiled water

Step 1: Peel the oranges and lemons and place their skins in a bowl
Step 2: Pour 500 ml of boiled water over the skins and allow the mixture to sit
Step 3: Strain into a spray bottle

Tip: For longevity you can add a Vitamin C capsule to your spritzer
