If you choose to get rid of facial hair or just get your brows done, you’d know the pain associated with it. While the plucking and stripping last for a few minutes, the pain and stinging sensation can linger on for more than a few minutes, especially if you have sensitive skin. Dealing with irritated facial skin can be quite a task. But not with us by your side.

We’ve got some pro tips that will effectively soothe your irritated facial skin after a waxing or threading sesh.

Tip #1: Ice

One of the most simple and efficient ways to soothe your skin after waxing or threading is by applying ice over the affected area. It’s cheap and gives quick results. However, make sure you don’t apply it directly on the skin, use a clean handkerchief to wrap the ice cube and then gently rub it on and around the irritated skin to get relief.

Tip #2: Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera has amazing skin-soothing and repairing properties — this is one reason why most skincare products contain this natural ingredient. If you don’t have an aloe vera plant at home, apply the Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Aloe Aqua Gel on your face to calm irritation. Infused with pure aloe extracts, it will reduce the pain and redness instantly.

Tip #3: Avoid exfoliation

Well, this is a no-brainer! Avoid exfoliating your skin for a few days after threading or waxing your facial skin. Doing so might irritate the skin further and cause unnecessary skin problems like redness and peeling. Allow your skin to heal completely, and then go back to your exfoliators.

Tip #4: Skip anti-acne treatment

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, chances are you might be using products to deal with it. These products contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide that can irritate the skin further and, in some cases, burn it too. We suggest avoiding your anti-acne treatment for a few days and resuming your routine only after the skin has healed
