It’s officially time to make new year resolutions again and hopefully to stick to them too! Every year we make new resolutions only to lose interest within the first few months or even weeks. Are you someone who makes these resolutions to care for your skin and health each year but fail to attain your goal? Do you want to give those health and skin resolutions another shot?
Here are a few simple steps to help you stick to your beauty resolutions...
- Take baby steps and give yourself time
- Be realistic
- Team work makes dream work
- Motivational sticky notes
- Cheat days and take breaks
Take baby steps and give yourself time

If you are starting a new diet or an exercise routine you must start slow. The first step to sticking to your resolutions is by starting with baby steps. If you’re trying to lose weight, you will not achieve anything if you train like a beast for day 1 and then give up on day 5.
You need to give yourself time and your body needs to get used to it gradually. It’s similar with every other resolution. Your mind and body need the time to get in the groove, so go easy on yourself.
Be realistic

Don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself which will only disappoint and upset you. You need to complete goals step by step. You cannot decide and ace that perfect skin in a few days. Aim for better skin but set short term goals. For example, first start eating right then get an exercise regimen in place and then follow it up with appropriate skin care products! Go slow and you won’t realise how far you’ve gradually come. Stick to one aim at a time.
Team work makes dream work

Especially when it comes to workout and dietary resolutions work with your friends. This way you can inspire and help each other to stick to the plan. If you’re trying to eat healthy, do it with a friend. And by the end of the day, tell each other about what you ate the entire day. This will keep you motivated and focused.
Motivational sticky notes

Almost everyone hates inspirational whatsapp forwards on our family group chats every morning. But these could actually work if you use it to stick to your new year’s resolution. Make tiny sticky notes with positive words and paste them in places your eyes won’t miss them. Like, your makeup kit or your mirror. This will lift you when you’re losing hope.
Cheat days and take breaks

Cheat days are so important yet so underrated when it comes to exercises and diets. Give yourself a day off every week for your body to relax. Take a day off from your workout and taste a refreshment! Have a cheat day to kill cravings and give time to your body to build muscle, have a day off because you deserve it. A break will help you feel motivated to work harder.
