Christmas hangover? Make an aluminium foil sheet mask to add instant freshness to your skin

Sheet masks are the trendiest skincare products in the market right now and they are one of my personal favourites too. And why not? Not just are they really easy to apply, but they’re also so much fun and super effective. Every time I apply a sheet mask, I inevitably feel like I am treating myself to a spa-like experience at home.

Face masks are the perfect skincare treatment to help you with your skin care concerns. The right face mask can help hydrate your skin, remove excess oils and improve the appearance of your pores. You can use a face mask once a week, or you can use it more frequently than that depending on your skin and its concerns.

But what do you do when you have run out of your favourite sheet mask and are itching for some holiday pampering? Make your own sheet mask! Yes, that’s right. You can now make your own sheet mask using this kitchen essential – aluminium foil! Surprised? Read on to find out a super simple way to make your own sheet mask using aluminium foil.

You’ll need:

Aluminium foil (food-safe, please)

A used sheet mask to use as a template (optional)

Scissors

How to:

Step 01: Cut enough foil to cover the full size of the sheet mask.

Step 02: Fold the foil in half lengthwise. Place it by the sheet mask to get an idea of where the eye, nose, and mouth holes are, and cut the holes out. Unfold and check if the holes are big enough to fit on your face.

Step 03: Place this sheet mask in the freezer for about an hour before use.

Step 04: Remove and place on your skin.

Although this sheet mask doesn’t really contain serums, the cold aluminium foil will help tighten your pores temporarily and give your skin a smooth even texture. This DIY sheet mask is perfect to use before going for a party or any other major event, as it will instantly brighten up your face and give your skin a tighter, brighter appearance.
