Belonging to the oily skin category, I've dealt with my share of skin problems as a teenager and as an adult. While I accepted unannounced breakouts as a part of my life, dull skin, uneven skin tone and rough skin texture is something I never saw coming. First things first, I was surprised to discover that this scrub is so gentle that I can use it every day — say what! But since my skin leans towards the sensitive side, I decided to use it every alternate day. A white, superfine powder made from finely granulated rice turns into a creamy textured paste when mixed with water. The product is infused with salicylic acid to chemically exfoliate, and liquorice and grapefruit to correct uneven skin tone — just what I needed.

After cleansing my face with micellar water at the end of the day, I sprinkle a dime-sized amount of powder onto my palm, add a few drops of water and then gently scrub my face with the paste in circular motions. I scrub for a whole minute, before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. I noticed that my skin felt a lot smoother and glowing right off the bat. And unlike most exfoliators, this one didn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry (something I hate) post-use.

Over the last month, I've been using the microfoliant every alternate day. Apart from giving me thoroughly cleansed skin after every wash, I've noticed that the oiliness on my face has also reduced considerably. Clogged pores and blackheads are not prominently visible anymore and my skin feels soft and smooth too. I did get a few breakouts around my menstrual cycle, but my skin definitely looks clearer and better overall.
