Rosacea, itchiness, rash, redness and other skin irritations are a part of the package. Sigh! But you can pamper it with soothing and calming face masks that can easily be made at home. These natural face masks are totally safe and won’t even dig a hole in your pocket. Here are three such super soothing face masks you can DIY to relieve your skin of any discomfort and irritation. 

 

Oatmeal + Honey + Yogurt

Milk + banana + rose water

Oatmeal is anti-inflammatory and has soothing properties which are excellent for irritated skin. Honey and yoghurt fight oil and leave your skin moisturised. Grind two tablespoons of oatmeal into a fine powder and add one tablespoon of organic honey and one tablespoon of plain yoghurt in it. Mix the ingredients well so that you get a smooth paste. Apply this mixture on cleansed face and leave it on for half an hour. Rinse and follow up with a moisturiser. The Pond's Light Moisturiser works really well to soothe inflamed skin.

 

Avocado + aloe vera + coconut oil

This face mask is an excellent remedy to treat eczema, flakiness and itchy skin. It calms your skin and moisturises it, thanks to the two humectants, coconut oil and avocado. Coconut oil and aloe vera gel are known for relieving skin irritations while avocado moisturises dry skin. Mash one ripe avocado and mix two tablespoons of coconut oil and aloe vera gel with it. Apply this on your face and affected areas and let it stay on for 20 minutes. Rinse and moisturise.

Milk is a gentle, natural ingredient that is considered a boon for irritated skin. It can soothe sunburn, eczema and other skin irritations and leave the skin with a healthy glow. Banana, on the other hand, helps moisturise seriously dry skin and curb itch and redness caused due to dryness. Mash one banana and put a quarter cup of whole milk into it and whisk. Mix a few drops of rose water in it. Cleanse your face and keep this mixture on your face for 25-30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and moisturise.
