The Cannes Film Festival 2018 kicked-off on the 8th May and ever since then, we were glued to the internet in search of some of the most swoon-worthy looks that ruled the red carpet. Needless to say, our expectations were exceeded. This 12-day festival is considered to be one of the most pivotal moments in fashion every year and gives us some of the most iconic looks ever—some of them even stay with us for years together.
From all the glamorous looks we saw at the festival this year, here are some of our personal favourites…
- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
- Kendall Jenner
- Elsa Hosk
- Deepika Padukone" title="Deepika Padukone" >Deepika Padukone
- Penélope Cruz
- Sonam Kapoor
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The Indian Cannes veteran was dressed in a gorgeous Michael Cinco gown which was inspired by the metamorphosis of a butterfly. The gown was majestic thanks to the endless train and was fully embellished with Swarovski crystals! For her second red carpet look, Aishwarya donned a crystallized Rami Kadi gown which was a literal work of art. After so many years of ruling the Cannes red carpet, it’s safe to say that no one casts a spell upon us the way Ash does.
Kendall was a vision in a silk and tulle ivory dress by Schiaparelli. We love the elaborate shoulders and the plunging neckline. For the Chopard party, she donned a transparent deep green slip dress by Alexander Vauthier and we’re convinced that she’s bringing the risqué naked dress trend back.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel looked nothing less than a Disney princess in this custom blush pink double-bow Alberta Ferreti number at the Cannes red carpet! Doesn’t she look dreamy and straight out of a fairytale?
Deepika’s ginormous crimson ruffled gown by Ashi Studio made our hearts skip a beat and left us mesmerized and how. This was by far Deepika’s most experimental red carpet looks and she did complete justice to this statement-y number.
Penélope was a goddess in a vintage black Chanel haute couture gown. She also wore jewels by Atelier Swarovski from the jewellery line she designed herself. Gorgeous!
The new bride surely made heads turn and was a treat for the pappz (not like she never is) at the Cannes 2018 red carpet. For her first appearance, she wore a Ralph and Russo lehenga, which, in her own words felt like it was “made of starlight”. For her second appearance, she donned a nude-yellow Vera Wang gown with asymmetrical ruffle detailing and looked like a dream in it! Also, can we talk about how effortlessly and confidently she sported those mehendi clad hands and feet on the red carpet? Only she could, TBH.
