Apart from her daring fashion choices, she’s got a badass personality to match—one that allows her her to carry off pretty much anything (seriously…this girl could make a sack look sexy)! She never fails to impress with her unique style and glorious outfits, especially on the red carpet.
Here’s taking a look at some of her most noteworthy red carpet appearances of all time…
MET Gala 2007— Poiret: King of Fashion
Now Rihanna’s no newbie to the red carpet, she’s been around for a while. So lets start by going back in time a little…. all the way to 2007. She looked like a vision in this white embellished Georges Chakra gown paired with diamond earrings, a bracelet and rings. And lets not forget that lovely red rose…. such a perfect accessory to complete this look!
MET Gala 2009—The Model as Muse
In 2009 Rihanna stormed the red carpet in a Dolce and Gabanna pantsuit and bowtie paired with black leather gloves and killer black stilettos. Her short but voluminous hairstyle with golden streaks beautifully complimented the outfit. She definitely looked like both the model and the muse that night!
MET Gala 2011—Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
In 2011 Rihanna stole the show in this breathtaking
London Fashion Week 2012
This was already a fashionably fabulous event, but Rihanna’s arrival set this party on fire. Rihanna sizzled in this slinky green Stella McCartney wrap dress with a plunging neckline, low back and thigh-high slit. She accessorized this number with a layered gold choker, bracelets and gold stilettos. And that sleek blonde bob was just the perfect hairstyle to go with this look.
Grammy Awards 2013
Rihanna completely stole the show at the 2013 Grammys in this vibrant, floor-skimming Azzedine Alaia outfit. This sheer-infused gown paired with that loose wavey hair and a bright bold lip made it a look to kill for!
BET Awards 2015
2015 saw Rihanna take haute couture to a new high in this super chic gold Giorgio Armani tuxedo at the BET Awards where she introduced her new music video. She paired this beaut’ with black stilettoes, and a sleek ponytail and then subtly amped up the bling with a diamond wreath, a gold watch and diamond rings.
MET Gala 2015—Chinese Whispers
Rihanna looked like absolute royalty in this imperial yellow, fur trimmed cape by Guo Pei. This elaborate piece of Chinese couture, embroidered with endless scrolls of intricate floral designs made red carpet history that’s celebrated even today. And there couldn’t possibly be a better accompaniment to this outfit than that gorgeous headdress (definitely a lot of chinese whispers about this one)!
Hollywood Premiere of ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ this year
This was one of Rihanna’s most recent appearances where she finally got to have her Barbie Doll moment. She completely stole our hearts in this powder pink off shoulder gown by Giambattista Valli Couture. This beautiful number with big puffy sleeves, a ruffled neckline and an extra long trail paired with matching lace sandals was a total winner for us.
Let’s face it—Rihanna is one of fashion’s favourite it-girls and a celebrated style icon. We absolutely love her for her fearless and edgy fashion choices and the sheer confidence and sexiness she pulls it off with. Whether its bold and sexy, elegant and chic or straight out crazy, she’s done it all and nailed it every single time. After all…they don’t just call her a trendsetter for nothin’!
