The one thing constant about fashion is change. As we scroll through our daily feeds to consume fashion, we are arrested by things that seem unusual. Designers cater to this curiosity and come up with quirky combinations that initially make us raise our eyebrows, but then make us nod in agreement.

Two such ladies and their stylists have caught our attention this week. Shraddha Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu have been promoting their latest movies, ‘Stree’ and ‘Mulk’ respectively, and have been creating quite a stir with their unusual fashion pairings.

Here is a look at these two women and how they chose to shake things up, fashion-wise.

Shraddha wore a Saaksha & Kinni outfit which featured a silk ankle-length pant suit, which almost reminds us of a night dress, and the winning detail on this outfit was a bralette worn on top. Shraddha teamed the outfit with nude makeup and kohl-rimmed eyes, and silver danglers.

Did you think wide corset belts were only for western outfits? Think again. Shraddha teams a floor length mid-night blue embroidered Anita Dongre outfit with a wide belt with tie-up lace detail in the front. The detail that won us over here is her intricately braided fish-tail braid. She again sports nude makeup, and her only other accessory is a silver choker.

Redefining office-ethnic is this Abraham and Thakore number which teams a striped saree with a collared blouse and a narrow tie! Whimsical as it looks, this look is quite difficult to pull-off, but Taapsee pulls it off effortlessly, with pulled back hair and a bindi.

In another unusual pairing, Taapsee dons an olive-green Urvashi Kaur outfit with a jacket, on top of which she wore a black belt and black strappy sandals. Centre parted hair and a bindi rounded off her look.

We are in love with this unconventional pairing of a wrap-around kimono-like waist-length jacket with a white cotton saree. The draping of the Suparna Som saree adds a quotient of interest to the outfit. Hair tied back, bindi and silver earrings complete her alternative look.
