Dress Casual, But Stay With It!

DRESS CASUAL, BUT STAY WITH IT!
India is caught up in election frenzy. Everyone, from the common man to the celebs are exercising their right to vote. We thought this was a perfect opportunity to do a quick story on how to dress casual, but not lose the cool factor. We’ve brought you five celebs who do it right!

Fitted jeans with a feminine top

Everyone wears jeans, but not many hit the right spot on making that rugged piece of material ooze femininity. One way to pull that off is to team a pair of fitted jeans with a ruffled top. It’s also a great day time look—teaming light stone washed fitted jeans with a pretty floral top. The secret to get it right is not to wear fitted jeans with a fitted top. Those days and that style are long gone! The idea is to do what Aditi Govitrikar has done in the picture—team a well-fitted pair of jeans with a not to0 figure hugging, pretty ruffled top. Finish the look off with a nice pair of moccasins, pull your hair back in an easy ponytail, wear a pair of nice sunglasses and you are ready to knock them dead in the coolest possible way!

Leggings with a casual oversized shirt

Leggings have been in fashion for some time now. This is one piece that can give you extreme comfort and yet make you look sexy. But there are a few absolute ‘No-No’s that exist with leggings. It is absolute style suicide to wear a short top with a pair of leggings (unless you are rehearsing for some dance performance or something). Showing your entire backside whilst wearing leggings is considered very tacky. Add to that tops that are short in the front thus exposing the frontal area. The rule whilst wearing leggings is to pair it with a loose top, like an oversized shirt or t-shirt or a double layered loose tank top. This is what makes it cool. Take a peek at Sonam Kapoor who has seamlessly blended a casual, oversized shirt with a pair of leggings and finished it off with a nice pair of moccasins, thus giving it an air of chic comfort.
Men normally are left with not many choices when it comes to casual dressing. But there are a few things you can do to stay uber cool whilst opting for the casual finish.

Below the knee shorts

Below the knee shorts—especially well fitted denim ones can be really cool on guys. In the picture the celeb is wearing the same with a collared t-shirt. The look works better if the t-shirt is not collared but a deep V-neck with short or long sleeves or even a V-neck buttoned t-shirt or casual shirt. (Of course, a good physique is mandatory in these cases, but we don’t need to say that, do we!)

White shirt and denims

This is one look that can never go out of style, so when in doubt, opt for a crisp white shirt over a well-fitted pair of denims. As Ranveer has done in the picture, you can finish this look off with a pair of cool shoes (it does not have to be white, but it needs to be shoes—not slippers) and you will be ready to take the world in your stride.

Like we said, jeans and t-shirts are the regular casual wear for men. If most men dress like that, then it comes down to doing that one thing that can make one guy stand out amongst the rest—like Varun Dhawan has done in the picture. Wearing a regular pair of cargo pants and a t-shirt, he looks very simple, but the pair of neon green slippers lends him a cool, easygoing air. So if you are guy, don’t be shy to experiment with neon slippers or frames or t-shirts, but also know when and where to stop!
So guys and girls, dress trendy, dress cool and be with it!
